This Year’s Featured Artist:

Holland Winslow

Holland “Holly” Winslow is a local artist, growing up on the Peninsula. She graduated from East Carolina University with numerous art awards and scholarships along the way.

Holly lives in Williamsburg, VA with her two daughters, Taylor and Savannah. She is a full time graphic designer for Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and also owns her own on-line art and cookie business, www.artandcookies.com.

Holly has a passion for pastels and acrylics. This will be Holly’s third year participating in the Gloucester Chalk Fest. She is flattered to be the featuring artist of this upcoming show in September. This year’s theme is “The Circle of Life”.

In 2008, she won Best in Show for her “Koi Fish” and in 2009, she won Best in Show and First Place for her “A Village View” at the Gloucester Chalk Fests. Holly also participates each year in the VA Beach Chalkfest. In 2008, she won First Place for her “Sesame Street Friends” as well. Holly’s daughters have been introduced to the chalk events at a young age and both have also placed in the chalkfest competitions! The best thing about being in the competitions is it is a family event and my girls and I really look forward to being in it each year!
